Caring For Your Catheter Bag
Removing your urine bag is a simple, easy process when done correctly. To remove your urine bag the proper way, follow these quick steps:
1. Thoroughly wash your hands with warm water and soap.
2. Empty the catheter bag. Be sure not to touch the tip when you let the urine flow out of the large drainage bag into the toilet or emptying container.
3. Place a towel under the connection and punch off the soft rubber tube. Gently disconnect the urinary catheter tube with a twisting motion.
4. Remove the protective coating from the tip of drainage tube. Gently clean the tip with an alcohol pad, wiping away from the opening to avoid soiling the tube.
5. Insert the tip in the catheter tube.
6. Keep the valve closed before using and drain after urine fill up.
